Default Good cheap BOV?

is there even such a thing? i'm just looking for something simple that works and will last. doenst have to be name brand, doesnt have to look nice or shiny, doesn't even have to be aftermarket. preferably soemthing i can get a flange for easily. i only plan to run low boost (under 10psi) and i would actually prefer it to be quiet if possible. thanks

HKS making a tiny bov that is plenty good to 10 pounds and they only cost about 60 bucks brand new. Check them out...like you said its not the most flashy looking peice, but it gets the job done.

if i get the 1g or 2g dsm BOV, will any shops have a flange i can weld onto my intake pipe? or will i just have to weld the BOV directly on?

i'm looking into that HKS

i really wanted the Greddy and i like the sound of it, but i cant afford it right now.

thanks

i dont mean cheap as in dirt cheap. just less than say, a brand new HKS, Apexi, or Blitz. basically i guess less than $100.

so only expensive ones are good?

I didnt mean dirt cheap like that....I dont think you're going to find a brand new HKS or any other type of name brand BOV for the price less than $100..Thats nearly imposible...But I'm sure if you get really lucky, youll come up with one...I think GReddy Type-S or Blitz is good for the money..

yea im seriously considering the 1G now. many pple who have it have had good things to say about it. for those running the 1G bov, did u just weld the flange to a short pipe and then weld it to ur intake piping? thanks alot for all the help and suggestions

Don't get a 2g DSM BOV, it's a pos and leaks after 13 psi, the 1g BOV can hold 18 psi or more if crushed.

I also run a 1g dsm bov. I like the sound of it, and even sometimes boosting in 4th or 5th and letting off the throttle a little bit, it kinda sounds like a bov from a WRC car.....kinda coo.
For flanges and soforth just order from roadraceengineering.com. If you ask nicely they will even give you a stubby piece of pipe to weld the bov flange to.
I found my bov on dsmtrader.com for $40 shipped. Flange and gasket was like 10-15 I think.

yea i heard even all the 2G dsm owners retrograde to the 1G cuz it holds boost better and is more reliant, even when its not crushed. since i planned to get a dsm sidemount as well, i guess i might as well find a guy who's parting out and try to get both IC and BOV together for cheaper.

thanks J-MiGiRL, i'll add that link to my Favorites
