01 type r
well tonight was not my night, on the way home from a friends house and car dies on the highway.... checked fuel and had fuel, checked spark and there wasnt any
so i called friend with 00si and he let me borrow his dizzy, car fired right up but sounded like a damn subie
throws codes 71 and 73, i made sure all the wires were correct etc etc, tried to switch ignitor from his dizzy to mine, but internally they were a little different
the Si dizzy works perfect in his car with no problems, i have to return the ecu to him tomorrow but idk if my only problem is ignitor
any help is appreciated

the ignitors are all the same, they just have different brackets which can be switched out.
your codes are most likely from using a OBD2B dizzy.
I assume you have a 98 R?
EDIT: checked your old threads, disregard the OBD stuff. your 01 is the same as his.

well i put in a new coil with my distributor and it fired up, but still runs like a subaru and throwing codes 71 and 73
i could unplug the #1 injector and it wouldnt effect the idle at all, the rest basically stalled the motor out
i also installed new ngk plugs while i did the coil
and seeings how honda-tech is being super slow i really need some help with this?
checked for spark and have spark from all plug wires
have 40psi at the fuel filter
took out #1 spark plug and started car and was getting plenty of air blowing up out of it so im sure compression is fine
basically it was running great cruising along the highway and just died, never had valve tick etc etc and now since the new coil/other distributor it sounds and runs like a subaru

thats what i thought, but it didnt make any sense, so i took out the plug and it smelt like unburnt fuel
so i took the plug wire from 1 and switched it with 2 and now cyl 2 is misfiring per ecu code 72, so it seems the plug wires went bad at the same time as the coil... what are the odds

put new wires on it today and it fired up and runs better then ever
what are the odds of the coil going and the wires at the same time
