need answered ASAP! sparco driver seat/6pt and stock pass seat/belt in HPDE
I tried contacting the event registrar for the track as well as our regional director about a month ago but haven't received a response. I have a set of integra front seats/belts for my EG that I'm attending an HPDE in tomorrow. By all means I would love to run the sparco pro2000 seat/6pt harness if I'm allowed to, but I also don't want to show up with that along with a stock passenger seat/belt and have them "fail" me... I found a tech form from about a year back that I printed out that says instructor belts must match that of the driver's (if the driver has a harness then so must the passenger... but you wouldn't run a stock integra seat with a 5pt harness for quite a few reasons.) I haven't heard of, or read this in any CCR publication; the closest rule stated that the belt must match the seat, but the passenger and driver seats did not necessarily have to match (i took that as meaning i'm in the clear so long as a stock seat used stock belts and "race" seats used harnesses)
I was planning on stacking my stock driver seat upside down on the passenger seat (plus I'll have something to sit on between sessions) in case they say the current combo (sparco driver seat/6pt and stock pass seat/belt) is a "no go"... the stock driver belt is still hooked up so all I'd have to do is swap out the 6pt harness and sparco seat, and in with the stock driver seat.
I'll probably drive up in the sparco seat and bring the stock driver seat regardless, I'd just like to know what kind of answer to expect from the guys in tech as to whether or not I can run this combo in HPDE novice (note: I didn't buy the sparco seat, the car was purchased already prepped for NASA H2... in case anyone was wondering what the story on the car/seat/driver is)
thanks in advance

For most HPDE events, it is a courtesy to equip your instructor with the same type of safety equipment that you are using. But as you stated, the HDPE your running actually states the passenger must be as will protected as you are.
But it may boil down to how comfortable your instructor feels. If your in a stock EG, then I wouldn't mind being in the three point and could care less what your strapped into. But if running a 350 hp beast, then helz no.
Most groups will not let you run a 5 or 6 point harness without a role bar/cage anyway.
So I know that doesn't answer your question outright because it depends on the group.

it is caged (and padded)
it has a GSR swap making about 185whp, completely gutted... full suspension and brake work too... the passenger seat is really the only thing lacking i guess you could say

played it safe and put the stock seat back in
i was told that it shouldn't matter having different seats as long as the correct type of belt for that seat is used, it's really up to the instructor if they feel safe riding in a car with a stock seat/belt while the driver has a race seat and harness
