well the b20 is known for its torque so thats where the b20 vtec comes into play..if your planning on swapping for the b20(which yes its a good idea), i would def consider an b20/v

well the deal is i got everything for a b swap besides the motor. and the cheapest motor i could find is a b20b. but its barely got more hp then a single vtec. like i said i dont wana do a b20vtec just stock b20 no intake no header nothing. im looking for people that actually have this motor.

If you're just going to run a stock engine, then there's no reason to get a B20. You could get a D16Z6 or Y8 and have (SOHC) VTEC, about the same power, and better mileage too.

Your location says you're in 'ca'...if that's California, be aware that putting a B20 in a car is illegal because it's technically a light truck engine. Although, I do know people with B20 VTEC setups, so it's not too big of a deal, just something to think about.

the b20 is a good swap. hp isnt everything. you get decent hp and good tq early in the powerband. combine that with a short geared b16 tranny and you will walk all over stock d16's,b16's,stock gsr's.

im not worried about smog allready got that taken care of. and like i said i have everything for a b swap except the motor. and i have a ls ecu and intake mani. and i have nothing for a single. i can get the b20b for 500 i just got drive a long ways to get it. and thats gona be way way cheaper then getting a complet single vtec swap plus haveing to make it obd1.

I loved my b20b swap in my 91 hatch. Ran 15.5 with crower 62403 cams untuned. The torque is a very nice feeling. I had a LS trans on mine, but I hear they really love the gsr trans. Daily drove it also, depends on what your looking to do really.

i had the b20B with b16 tranny in my 4dr ran a 14.6 1/4. with the B20V w/ b16 tranny, i ran a 13.6 with full interior (both on slicks and both untuned, completely stock.)

does that convince you enough? (if straight b20b, use ls tranny.)

back in the day (2002) I ran a b20b usdm (same as jdm) with an LS tranny, ACT clutch, open pipe, obd-0 integra ls ecu, litterally no mods, just an intake and ran a 14.3@97mph... Slightly gutted... One seat, no bumper beams, 87 octane, shitty 14" no name tires, 2.3 60 ft. Loved the engine, loved the torque.

i had a b20z in my old hatch and that car raped *** i sprayed a 35 shot on it and would pull z28s all day only prob was traction on spray was non existent so the first 3 gears it would just spin, im sure on slicks it would have pulled low 13s..

I got the rare 8.8:1 c/r jdm b20b and i absolutely love it. People talk **** about not having enough hp, but when you got torque you make up for it which no single cam can say that in a stock form.

My only engine mods are a Edlebrock Victor X and Intake and I have beaten 2 GSR's, a VW Corrado G60, SR20 non turbo swapped Sentra

The sentra that I beat went 15.2 the other night at the track and I pulled him by about 4 lengths on a dig and that was before I put the full race traction bar on.

I paid 515 shipped to Ohio for my B20 from them
