Help on suspension set up for the R
Well am looking to get a full coilovers for the R and am wondering what you guys are running, how it rides, and if you have had any problems.
D2 Racing - $1125
Tein Flex - $1325
K Sport - $640 (Yo Parts Price)
is that a deal or ...................
and probably Koni with Ground Control, and 2 front top hats $915
Looking something for drag, and circuit, mainly drag.
Let me know guys. Thanks

Jesus Christ, where did you get that D2 Racing price?
I can do $815.00 on a set of D2s for ya'. I have the same setup on my car, anyone who doubts their ability, I tracked them at EXPO, and they did great.
I wouldn't call them the best coilover setup ever, but definitely a great bang-for-the-buck coilover.

PIC has a Drag Coilover and they are an Expo Sponsor ... Also, I can say at least 10 people on this forum alone track these coilovers and Al and Jim have the best costomer service. http://picperformance.com/stor...ry=81

You had a circuit setup and traded for drag. Sounds like they suited your needs better.

That doesn't make the first bit of sense to me.
Something that impresses me about PIC, however, is that as they try to build their business they actually get out into the field, all kinds of events, to listen to what people want and to hear how their products are performing.
Reminds me of the early days of SMSP and Omnipower.

For use on road courses either racing or track days, the N1 suspension sold as Spoon, Mugen and Showa are just about perfect, the result of winning many, many races.
However, these Showa N1 suspensions, especially with the lightweight versions, can be very expensive compared to the other suspensions that are being mentioned here.
The Mugen branded version of the suspension I'm talking about would cost about $3600 with a custom spring rate selection.

yep, I've already run into them 3 times this year.
For under $1500 you really cannot beat PIC.

I'm looking for Road Course Coilovers. Spoon was first to come to my mind. OT I know. Thanks George. I couldn't find much about them. How they compare how tuneable etc.
For road course stuff, they're downright baller. Absolutely fantastic. However, for the cost I think they're really more suited to someone who either has the experience to really make use of them, or someone who's racing competitively. Remember that all shocks, even Showa units, will wear out in time and require rebuilding or replacement.
I would recommend sending Al/Jim an email. I'm sure they could accomodate you.

I'v had nothing but great customer support and feedback from Al/Jim through email and their attendance and support at Expo and We-Todd sponsors.

SPSS valved Konis + Custom rate Ground Controls have won more amateur auto racing championships than you can shake a stick at.

They came to CMP in 05, Sept. 07 and April 08 and now November 08 for the next event. Al invites any and all people at the track to come to the class and ask questions about suspension in general...they don't push their products onto there customers. But they went from having no people running them in 05 to last we-todd we had 5 or 6 people running them and also talking with them about the suspension.
