Swapped airbag, Now SRS light will not reset...
Put a 2005 S2000 steering wheel in my 99 civic ex.
1. Disconnected battery +
2. Disconnected battery -
3. Disconnected airbag plug
4. Removed civic airbag
5. Removed civic steering wheel
6. Installed S2K steering wheel
7. Rewired cruise control plug to match civic clockspring (this works)
8. Installed S2K airbag
9. Connected airbag plug
10. Connected battery -
11. Connected battery +
turn the key, SRS light will not reset.
Steeringwheel and airbag are like new condition, I doubt it has a problem. Also, this is the 2nd S2k steeringwheel... first one did the same as this one.
Already reset the battery again to be sure. Left terminals off for 5 minutes or so and depressed the brake pedal while battery was disconnected to drain any residual charge.
Any ideas?

theres a reset procedure for the SRS system, with the ignition off you need to locate a 2 wire plug that goes into the fuse panel, its a yellow plug in a yellow loom, near the top right, unplug this. jump this connector, turn ignition switch to accessory, SRS light will come on for 6 seconds, then will go out, remove jumper within 4 seconds of the light going off, SRS light will come on again, jump connector again within 4 seconds, SRS light goes off, remove jumper within 4 seconds SRS light should blink twice indicating that the memory has been reset.

There's a reason why you disconnect the negative first.
To avoid shorting the wrench to ground if you do the positive first and sparking/blowing things up.
The negative is allready ground, so if you touch anything on the chassis while removing the negative terminal, nothing happens, then after this is disconnected, it doesn't matter if you happen to ground the positive terminal with the wrench.
This is the opposite for positive grounded vehicles of course.

I am not a girl last time I checked. Since you're the 2nd person to ask that... Im changing it!
Service manual disagrees with you about the order... but I see the point.
