Good turnout yesterday, over 130 cars, It was a 48 to low 50 sec course there at Nassau, Fun but you just need a lot of patient. I'm not driving the way I want or I should and made a lot of mistakes. But still came in 4th in the over all raw time. Mike Johnson took the FTD with my car with me sitting in there , and Henry Hoeh got 2nd Jay got 3rd. Mike is the Nation Champion of FS and Henry just took the SM first place in Rome. They are awesome guys and gave me and Jay a lot of tips and advices . Also sitting in my car with Mike driving it is simply amazing !! He said he never came out of a honda shaking... hahhah. He offer to trail the car to Topeka to run the National this year! We'll see how that goes.....

nice!!! sounds like a good learning day. i have been wanting to get mike to drive my car as well, just to see how much faster he was than me and how much i need to learn. instead, i got beat by pro and nat'l tour guys all weekend.
on the good side of the weekend, dave bowlin let me sit in his miata to see if i could fit and i discoverd i can def. make it work. if i could pick one of those up i could have a rwd car to play with and learn with.

I was the only Honda Accord there. You couldnt have missed me. I had people walking by my car and giggling at me. Even had the driver of a Bullet Mustang tell me, "Well, at least if I go after you, I wont look so bad." I think, I was faster than him anyway. Soon as the results are up, I will see. It was my first time, and I was in NSTS with almost no mods...not sure why they put me in STS, more on that later.

Where you the one in the turbo black Civic with red lower sections?

Anyway, I had an unbelievable time. Best $30 I ever spent. After walking the course 3 times, it still took me 3 runs to learn it. I was in the high 60's the first 4 run, but pulled out a 59.114 my last run. That with running a 92 Accord sedan w/ intake, header, rear swaybar, and Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's on Prelude wheels. Yeah, I guess that justifies STS. Oh, and did I mention auto tranny?

Anyway, I was plowing through most of my runs, but realized some brakes might help, and desided to used them more. Thats when I pulled off the 59. I still have a lot of learning to do. But expect to see me there again.

Yeah I'm driving the turbo civic. Most of the people there are really cool and Don't let those other lame ppls(usually very few) let you down.... most of the time those people can't drive anyway heh. Just try to do it more often and get as many seat time as you can, have a instructor to sit with you and ask for tips and pointers! There will be another autox at the Nassau Coliseum this Saturday by BMWCCA....Its usually a smaller event and more relaxing, good for learning or just have fun.

Still haven't ran into you this year Kevin. I should have my civic ready in a few weeks. Breaking in the motor right now and taking it this weekend to have a hondata computer put in. $$$$$ouch. Not getting another car for years I think.

I almost got the suspension just perfect and my driving has improved so maybe I can actually win for a change.

Spencer I was driving the blue celica 2 weeks ago. I think you beat me by a second on your last run ARRGGH

Later
