RSX owners: Plastic or Metal Intake Manifold???
Are you serious? The intake manifold is metal (cast iron I think, or aluminum), but the cover on the intake runners is plastic...
a lot of people in other forums are reporting that it's plastic, saying that using nitrous in an RSX is a bad idea cause the intake manifold might not be able to handle it.. what's going on?
There are numerous people on clubrsx running a 50 shot, and I believe there are 3 people running a 75. Most of the 75 guys have gone through at least 3 bottles with no problems thus far.

metal = GOOD
what the hell is acura thinking...i mean i dont care if its a base model...thats just dumb
there's nothing wrong with plastic manifold.. the GSR had plastic manifold.. plastic manifold allows the engine to run dual intake runners.. short and long ..

There seems to be two theories going around about the base RSX. One is that it's a plastic cover on top of a metal manifold (which IMO is better than having just a metal manifold because the plastic will likely act as a heat shield) and the other theory is that it's a plastic manifold (in order to allow the use of dual runners). IMO, that's a smart move by Acura.
1. Molded plastic is smoother than metal. When talking about the inside walls of the intake manifold, that's a good characteristic.
2. Plastic is cheaper than metal, cutting down costs.

am i the only one who understands that plastic melts at high temperatures? i.e. temperatures inevitable to exist in any car's engine???? a plastic IM would make no sense to me.
GSR IM is metal. i don't know where you got plastic from. i can stare at it right now and tell you it's metal.

and you jackasses really think they use the same plastic that your ****** plastic folks are made off?? so that **** can melt?
not worth the time.
