Default cv axle problem

hey guys got a quick question, i did a y8 tranny swap on my y7 cause it had a failing inputshaft bearing and mainshaft bearing. everything went pretty smooth, but i couldnt get the passenger side axle inner spines to go into the diff of the tranny all the way, its like half way in, any tips of tricks? i had done a few trannys and clutches before and never really had the problem, maybe i just need to fiddle around and work it in, i just want to make sure it seals and im not leaking oil out when its turning. Dont want to damage the cv boot also by forcing it. Just taking a break from finishing it up. wanted some insight.

when i put mine back in and replaced afew greasing them up FULLY all over the splines and seats...

i tried with them dry before and they where almost IMPOSIBLE to get them fully seated!!!!!
a greased them all up and POP they went right in with a simple hard slide...
also ensure the clip on the end is even, grease will help it stay in place, it might be catching on something holding it back.
good luck!

The other trick is may take two people.

Put a jack under the LCA and jack it up until the hub is inline with the tranny, the axle should be level. Then take a big hammer and a 2X4. Hold the 2X4 against the end of the axle where it comes out of the hub. Hit the 2X4 with the big hammer.

Do not hit the axle with the hammer, only hit the wood.
