i had 225/50 15's on last time. They look nice on the car, and have a little more stick when cornering hard.

However i had very noticeably more sidewall deflection. made the car really spooky over 100. Could have been the crap Falken ZE512's tho

Yep....entering the "BITCH" @ Hallett in tulsa, OK
Pretty rare to see a lowered Prelude lift a leg....and I do it with ease.
1.0G+ on R comps FTW!

I run BFG g-force t/a drag radials at the track on stock rims.

225's look great, but depending on the tire the sidewall flex is just not worth it if you are into taking high speed corners.

I was running 225/45/16 BFG KDW2's on my stock wheels and the tires folded under stress which isn't exactly the greatest feeling while attacking interstate on/off ramps, lol.

I'm now running the same tires but on wheels that are 1" wider than stock and the sidewall strength improved 10x.

Taller tires=lower revving=better mpg

With what kind of tire pressure?...Id bet that was more of an enemy than the sidewall. When I race, I can tell in a split second if my pressure if too low. I usually start on real hot days at 34psi and they will go to 44psi with heat. The 1st few laps are brutal and the car wiggles. On cooler days I start out at 40 and don't feel it. If you're trying to push tires to the limit at >40psi a 45/50+ will roll. To add you want a small amount of roll under full load turning to use every last bit of the tire.

the 225/50/15 is actually has the same OD as the 205/55/15 that comes stock.
so its not gonna change your revs, though mpg may drop insignificantly because the tire is just wider.

yeah I think 205/55/15 and 225/50/15 are very similar diameter wise so RPMs should only be affected a tiny bit. 225 would have more contact so more rolling resistance and probably more weight.

225 overall diameter is .02" shorter than 205. less than 1/32", the same as a couple thousand miles of treadwear. I did not lose any MPG with the 225's
