91 civic lx sedan a/c problem

WAY high mileage, AC just broke...tried to spin by hand...compressor clutch locked up...is this an internal pump problem or can i just replace the clutch on the compressor outsides?

if the clutch locked up, it should just run the AC all the time. are you getting belt squeel and all that? because if you are, most likely the compressor bearing failed and locked it up.

someone who deals with ac on a more regular basis should chime in on this though..
