Default Hf-Zc wiring problems!!!!!

HELP...I got my ZC and have started the install process but have run into a snag. The ZC fuel line(wires) have been cut where the merge into the larger harness. there are 8 wires and 4 of them are the same color! Should I splice them in the hF harnes? Also, I have the old HF complete wiring harness but the ZC fuel injectors will not transfer over to the HF fuel rail(different plugs). Can I use the HF fuel injectors? Are they rated the same as the ZC's? If I use the HF harness, other then the Dizzy wires, will I have to change anything else? My god, please help me I thought all I had to to electricaly was to change the dizzy wires and add the new ECU?

Update: I took both harnesses off the engine and set them next to each other...they are not the same! The ZC one has more connectors then the HF one. Also the wire colors do NOT match up. I did find out the the ZC was and automatic so that might explain some of the extra connectors. Where do I go from here. Please help I've gone as far as I can go.....

Yes, another update...I looked on the back of the engine and there is NO oil to water cooler like on my HF. From all the stuff I've read there should be one. I also wrote down the vin number of the engine "ZC 3005517" and underneath that is the number "2". I'm really lost here... it says "ZC" but the wiring and oil/water cooler thing just don't add up. Can someone help me? PLEASE?

Now I'm worried about my Hf to ZC swap! I, too, read that all you had to change was the distribitor wires...I wish I could help you out but this is my first swap and I don't even have all my parts here yet. I'm taking my time on mine...I have a few good web sites that have ZC info that I'l post later. Good luck man!

oh I read somewhere that there will be a line or too extra that need to be plugged if you got one of the ZC's with auto vs. stick...I'm not sure about the eletrical though.

Thanks for the links. They just make me more confused, not because of the good info, but because my swap shouldn't be this complicated. Most of those links talk about the dizzy wiring differences which looks like the easy part. There seems to be nothing about HF to ZC injectors not changing over, or not having enough plugs on the HF wiring harness to accomodate the ZC engine etc. Is there someone out there that can help me? I've posted all the info I know in the above three posts.

You should just use your existing wiring harness on the zc. I did it with mine, just unplug the old injector wires and put the wire plugs on the new/zc injectors. You're going to have to do the usual moving two distributor wires to the sensor on the exhuast cam, but other than those two just switch the wires to their matching colors on the zc plug. If the injector plugs are not fitting, there's a small possiblity the zc you got is one of the odd 20th anniversary (or whatever year it was/is) zc's that came in the OBD-1 cars in Japan. These are extremely rare though, so try plugging your old harness into the corresponding places on the zc and make absolutely sure they won't fit before anything else. You can use your hf injectors if needed, they are the same size (240cc) as the zc ones.

Good luck,

Ryan P.

If it is one of those rare ones is it still 130HP? http://www.carpage.tmfweb.nl/specs.htm scroll down this page a few and you'll see that not all ZC's are created the same. I wish there was a web site where I could imput my engine Vin number and find out more about it. Is there one?

I am glad the injectors flow (cc's) is the same. As for it being one of those rare obd-1 ones, will this mess things up when I plug in my harness? Also, why doesn't mine have a oil to water cooler on it?

Could I get some more imput about this swap?
