Just finished Valve Adjustment.. PROBLEMS up the a$$(Ep3)
I just did a valve adjustment on my 02 ep with 87k on it, and its still real chattery.. My exhaust kinda sounds like a wrx exhaust now. There is a continuous Click sound in my engine as if you were tapping a key on a metal surface(Im guessing one valve???). it runs kinda rough now. Im guessing I either didnt tighten the valve/s enough or too much. I should put out there that I havent had a tune up since I got it 8k ago, And I was also suggested to get my timing adjusted? Anyways after I put the cover back on and tightened everything the Check engine symbol light came on, adding to my collection of lights on my dash(maint req/SRS due to new seatbelts.) The chatter went down a little and it seems like theres maybe Half the valves still chattering??? if thats possible.. This was my first time doing it, I read everything I could and made sure I had the corrent measurements for the exhaust/intake. I went over each valve to make sure it was tight. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it possible that when I tightened the bolt that it loosened the screw? Any help is thanked before i take the cover back off and go at it again..
Heres the measurement spacers i used
Intake:
0.21-0.25 mm (I used 0.23)
Exhaust:
0.28-0.32 mm (I used 0.28)

Yea, I forgot to set the pistons to tdc each time i adjusted the valves. Which ended up making my lil ep sound like a damn subie haha.. And man im the bearor of bad luck, changing my spark plugs today and the rubber thing inside the socket came off and fell in the damn hole. so now its jamming my spark plug.. have to take the damn valve cover off again ... maaaannnnn
