Default Coolant Temp Gauge hookup ...where to mount sensor

Where should I mount the sensor on my h22a ? I was thinking of using this.

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/part_p-90590.htm

Do u just cut the coolant hose and put it inline then run the sensor to it ? Im assuming it goes inline on the lower hose ?

What are they talking about with the fan switch ?

for my water temp gauge, i just drilled and tapped 1/8"NPT threads into the water outlet neck on the front of the head

lol it wouldn't take maybe a foot more than putting it in the hose, plus it'll be more accurate
