starting the car if the car i already on..oops

Default starting the car if the car i already on..oops

Hi there,

I was wondering if your car is already started and you turn the key again to start it would this damage any components.
I was a the border and i was waiting and i start the car again and didnt realize the car was already on....oops..i hate my self for doing that..

I disagree. It only takes once to ruin either the ring gear on the flywheel/torque converter or starter gear.

I would probably just keep driving the car and pay attention when you start the vehicle to any unusual noises like grinding gear teeth sounds. If you hear nothing after a bunch of starts, you're probably ok. The engine stops in only a few locations in its revolution. The same few sections of gear teeth on the ring gear are used. If you damaged something you'd know pretty soon.

you could chip off teath of the starter i believe..

NExt mod should be a loud fart can so you can hear you car idling
