I was driving home and my 2000 civic si began to be gutless. I had to keep her pinned to keep goign. As soon as i lifted of the gas she would begin to shutter the whole car, then came a chugging noise, kinda a train, chug chug chug. If i put it N it would idle fine, but if i gave it gas while in N, around 4000 rpm it would start making a crackling metal sound. I have no clue what this is, the check engine light is on, and has been on for a bit, i think i need an oxygen sensor... any help would be appreciated.

 

Yeah that's not gonna be your o2 sensor. check the fuel pressure, also make sure to check for vacuum leaks they cause misfires under acceleration and can make it so that you can't get up in the high revs.
