Default 92 Rear Engine Mount Replacement ??

I have to replace the rear engine mount (closest to firewall) on my 92 Prelude.

My questions to those who have done it already:

Is it accessible if you unbolt the engine/trans bracket? It looks like it would be hard to unbolt it from the sub-frame.

Do you access the bolts from the top or bottom?

It looks like a PITA to do without removing a lot of stuff.

Thanks all.

The mount is held onto the subframe by 3 bolts that go in from the top, then there's one through bolt holding the mount to the engine/tranny mount. If you can, I would remove the intake manifold and make your life a LOT easier, but you don't have to.

This pic might help also, it is with no IM:

Thanks Hawk! I was hoping that I would not have to remove the intake.

Anyone replace this without removing the manifold?

Yea, it's accessible from the bottom, but requires small hands and a lot of shifting of the engine mount and the bracket, kinda like playing tetris, haha. I cant remember if I inserted it with the bracket and mount attached to each other or if i put in each one separately. You may also have to jack the engine up a little bit to get the bolts to line up.

if u remove the TB and the intake u can get at it but its not that easy. I needed a swivel and long extension.

Not entirely sure about the 4th gen, but with the 5g you don't need to remove the tb. All you need is a really long extension. Slip it between the throttle cable and tb/manifold to get to the front bolt. Slip the extension behind the tb/mani to get to the right bolt.

Thanks guys. I figure I will try from the under side and if that doesn't work I will have to breakdown and remove the mani.

There's a diy on how to replace the rear mount on a 4th gen. It doesn't involve removing the tb or mani.
