Default 1993 accord ex driver side window does not go down

Hi,
The driver side window only go down 1/2 inches and then does not go down at all. I can move it up again. If I press the switch to move it down, it makes noise (like Vooh) . All other windows goes down fine using individual switches and the switch at driver side.
What might be the problem?
Is it motor(don't think so as it goes down /2 inch, also makses noise)
Switch (could be but it moves the window few inches)
coils/wire wrapped up(who knows)
Anything else? ( Thats whay I am asking you guys )

Please help. I am not a very expert on this and even feel scared to open window panel and fear that I might make more mess and can't close it.

Basically all you can really do is remove the door panel (not even 5 mins), and visually check out what's going on in there. Other than that would be pure guessing. And if you want to fix it, you're gonna have to pull the door panel anyway. If you don't feel comfortable pulling the door panel, then you're really not going to feel comfortable trying to repair or replace a regulator/motor...you might just have to take it somewhere or find a buddy that can look at it. Good luck

The door panel can be a bit tricky to take off, so you definitely should to get a manual before you pop something.

hi, as far as i know there is a gear box attached on top of your window motor, inside that box there is a plastic gear, the teeth to that gear must be broken. you have to replace the whole motor to fix this problem.

if it is motor, then it would not go up from that 2 inch position, right?

As long as you don't pull the door panel and actually physically look at what's going on in there, you're just pissing in the wind. It sounds like something is stripped out, like a gear, like lalonaruto said. But again, take off the panel. Here goes:

1. Upper right hand corner of the door panel there is a plastic push pin, remove it.
2. Bottom left corner of door panel right above the pocket, there is a little plastic cover, remove it and there is a screw behind it.
3. In the "cup" of the armrest there is a plastic cover (can be a pain to remove), remove it and there is a screw down there also. It helps to have a 90 deg pick or something to get that cover off.
4. Behind the inner door handle (the chrome one) there is a small plastic cover. Pop it out and there is a screw behind it. Then, (with a small amount is force) slide the door handle assembly slightly forward and pull it out, it's hooked in. So forward and out. Then, unclip the little clip holding the metal rod onto it and remove it from the rod.
5. If my memory serves me correctly, on the driver's door there is not another screw behind the door handle once you get it off, but all the other doors do...so if you don't see a screw back there, you're good.
6. So it this point, you have the panel loose, grab it on the bottom and give it a firm tug and unclip all the door clips all the way around and unhook it from the top, just slide it up a little.
7. Then disconnect your wiring and the door panel is off. Now to test your window, you're going to obviously have to have the window switches in place....so what I would do is remove them from the door panel and hook them back up so they just hang there.
8. Carefully remove enough of the plastic covering to gain access to the regulator.

Once you do this a time or two, you can literally do it in 2 minutes.

Where can I buy this little clip holding the metal rod behind the door handle? Mine is broken and I am afraid that the door might not open if the rod falls off from the handle.
Thanks.

IF you can even get it separately, it would be from the honda dealer. If you can't get it separately (which is what I am suspecting), you'll have to buy the whole inner door handle. Either also from the dealer or TAS Auto has them too. The price isn't real bad... around 20 I think.
