My 3rd gear grinds every time over 2k. Its fuct. I found a ITR tranny w/ 350mi for $1100. I have enough to get the ITR tranny, however Im feinding for some Skunk2 stage 2's. My clutch is in good shape and my gsr has the stock lsd, so other than the syncros its a good tranny. My questions are: what would acura want to fix my syncros? (which would put me very close to my stage 2's) Or buy the ITR tranny which is superior in almost every way. Better clutch, lighter fly wheel, better gearing,and its practically brand new. Also, what could I sell my gsr tranny for w/ the fuct syncros?
What do yall think?

Just out of curiosity, what type of tranny fluid were you running...

 

Replace the whole thing, thats what I thought.
I am running honda genuine MTF. Its probabally all I would ever consider running.

 

what tranny do you have currently?? If you buy a new ITR transmission, you can probably sell off your tranny and gears and get a lil bit of the money back. If you know how to install it yourself, I would go and fix it.. It's really not that hard.. I just rebuilt my 2 days ago.

edit.. o i c.. gsr tranny.. sorry. go with the ITR, and get somebody to install a GSR 5th gear on your new ITR tranny., You'll get annoyed at the high rpms cruising of the ITR, but you will feel quite a big difference in 1-4 since the gears are quite shorter. Hope that helps.
