Spark plug wires...
1996 Honda Accord-
I was driving home earlier today and I hear a 'pop' noise coming from my engine. My acceleration slows down so I parked my car and pop the hood.
Two of the spark plugs wire were not in. They were somehow loose and out of place. I notice one of them were oily. I tried putting both of the loose wire back in but some how one of them won't go all the way in. It seems to be stuck on something - as I can't push one of them in to secure it. It's about a quarter inch off.
However I was still able to drive it home...
Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it? Or perhaps give me some advice..

Well if there is any oil present, it's time to do a valve cover gasket and spark plug hole seals. You probably have a quart of oil in the spark plug holes. While you're at it, you might as well put new plugs in it and probably even wires. And...while you're at it again, you might as well do a full tune up (+ cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv, valve lash adjust etc)
i have oil in the middle 2 plugs on my f22b2 also. i read that some honda engines have another set of o-rings that may require removing the cam or something like that to get at them. anyone know if the f22b2 has that other set, or do i just do the valve cover gasket and the 4 orings on top?
The four on the bottom usually only leak if someone does something to them during cylinder head service.
As far as the wires, I'd consider the physics of putting something into a space that is smaller than it. Find out what is in the way. Measure the depth to the spark plug and compare to the others. Measure the depth of the contact point in the boot from the end. Compare it to the others. Look inside the boot, make sure the little metal clippy doo is not collapsed preventing it from sliding over the end of the spark plug. Perform steps listed in the etc... column. If that doesn't work, pour some more magic into the flower garden.
