Will Rads from a 93 Accord fit a 94 Accord ... ?
I was recently looking for an oem Rad from a local u pull it yard and came across two nice looking Visteon aftermarket Rads. BUT I have a 94 Accord and the parts literature seems to indicate that the Rads for a 93 and 94 are not interchangeable. However, both of those Visteon Rads looked identical to how my current rad mounts and fits. So, that is why I am asking this question, because maybe they do fit each other? Btw, I am not talking about the original 93 brass/copper Toyo or Denso OEMs being swapped out to fit a 94 with the same Rad. I'm wondering about the aftermarket fit from the 93 to 94 or vice versa?
(I recently purchased a Spectra Rad from Pep Boys but I am returning it because the brass Trans cooler connections are real thin and crappy. I could tell that the brass fittings will not hold up and will leak at the first sign of stress). But as for the fit, the Spectra Rad also looked the same as the Visteon in terms of fit. The Visteon Rads looked well built as I recall (the plastic tanks looked to be HD polypropylene; but the Spectra Rad is made from PET plastic, which I don't believe is quite as good a material as Visteon is using. But I will say this about the Spectra Rad, if it wasn't for those crappy brass connectors, I would have kept it and used it, because the tanks and aluminum core looked to be made well, and I only paid $75. But knowing it will leak, makes it worthless.
Anyway, the main problem with the two Visteon Rads in the slavage yard was that the top plastic posts were broken off, so mounting would have been a problem. So, I never bothered pressure testing them for leaks, and even if the posts were ok, then there still was the issue of fit. Anyone know?
