Default Bypass valve

If I were to install a AEM c/a/i in my 99 GSR, would a bypass valve be recomended? How low is the filter from the ground? Are there any other types of c/a/i systems that are mounted higher than the AEM?

Default Re: Bypass valve (Increased1)

Bypass valve would be recommended or not recommended depending on who you ask. Basically, it gives you piece of mind but robs you of a couple of hp. The filter is about 1.5 ft off the ground. The Iceman intake uses the same location as the the stock air filter for its filter.
