Default Acids H22a Prelude Last Post on this BB1

This should be the last post of this thread. Instead of posting little at a time I thought Id
Wait until the very end to post a final ending, dated and timeline of events. To help speed
up the process and actually give you guys something good to read, and hopefully learn from
as I have.

June 27- Finished the wheels today, didnt bother with the motor today, I started painting last week,
and well, I enjoy painting more than doing a timing belt, lol.
Here are the pics, Ive got a hand full of jerks telling me my lude looks like Big FOot now.

July 5-
I started working on the lude again today. I walk out this morning to get cracking, and realized that
I left my tools at work. Oh ****!!

Not a total loss I did some painting today. I tried some new things. Stence desgins this time. Very
trickey. What I would do is stick a Vinyl design on the painted target and paint over it, and
then I would peel it off once it dried. Well it came out pretty cool on the Plennum I did.
But I sprayed some Gloss on afterwards and it layered on so thick that Im hoping it dries clear.
I hate using gloss, Im usally content when there is gloss in the paint itself.

I did a stencel desgin on the Valve cover as well, but Im just typing now while it dries.

July 8-
Had an hour to work on the car today, Im tired of just thinking about getting it done. Im working like
6 days a week and dont have much time today.

The bolt that holds the tensionor pulleys in place had be stripped off, by using the wrong size
wrench. GO ME! So I went out and cut the bolt off with my ever so dull hack saw. And success
the bolt is now cut off, and the process of removing and swaping to a manule tensinor is now
under way.

July 12- Thats it, Im going through Vtec withdraw here.....

Went out today with finishing this manual tensinor conversion. Simple job, and im being lazy about it.
Well I was missing the right tools is whats actualy happening. I need A metric wrench to get the
the auto tensionor out. Its a pain in the *** to work in that little space. So the water pump
broke off while removing the Auto tensionr. Thats great, luckly I had a spare. Then I start installing
the one manual tensionr and reliaze Im missing one tiny piece. "Oh **** man" I said out loud. I have the
piece I need in my shop about 50 miles away from me. Well that is all for today unless I feel
like driving up and back. But I doubt it.

I have some new things I want to try with vavle cover painting.

July 13-
Well I went to go get the part last night and I did. I finsihed everything up and it was good to
go except one thing. I did not take the metal stick out that holds the oil pump in place, and
it broke off and sucked it up.

Blah. Ill be doing a massive strip down and part out for now. Sucks my ***** big time, lol.
I wasnt meant to be the master of the Preludes. Lol

Sprayed right over the wheel weights... now when you get your wheels balanced, there is going to be paint missing. Valve cover looks like crap man. You should strip it and go with a different color scheme. So wait, are you parting the car out now or something?

I already paint striped the valve cover, again. I know alot looks like crap here.

Im done with this lude. Ive had jack **** for luck on it. Its time to cut loose this car. I was planning on doing a final post when it was all done, but, ****, I just finish a timing belt job, and forgot to take out an allen wrench that was holding the oil pump at tdc, and started the car, and broke it off inside the motor, and now there is a piece of the allen wrench inside the motor.

I dont have time to monkey with this prelude anymore, I already have a business to run, and its fun to tinker with, but the damn thing keeps breaking on me. So [freak] it.

I know there was a few people on here waiting for me to finish this car, but its cost to much time and money right now, and Im tired of it for now.

Not like anyone cares.

It's not bad luck, it keeps breaking because of user error

Poor Prelude What are you going to do with it now?

Yea, leaving an allen wrench on the oil pump is not the prelude's fault. A crank pulley bolt breaking or valve ticking would be more of the car's fault but not that. The IM looks pretty good but I don't think it was a good idea to spray inside the TB...

Lol, the only user error, was me leaving the allen wrench in there.

Last motor in there, the crank pulley bolt shot off, which was not user error.

Ah, major part out time

I am deeply saddened by this as well. I still got mad love for the Ludes though. Even though I will be shifting my focus onto other sites now in my life, It truely was fun while it lasted.

if a crank pulley bolt "shoots off" its usually due to it not being on there at proper torque. happened to my wifes lude cause the prior owner use a ratchet to tighten it. It is crazy how many problems you have had though, usually when i see that I recommend the person stop working on cars since they do not seem to have an aptitude for it...

Thanks, but I had not touch the Crank Pulley bolt. I had a shop torque it on there back in December and have not touched it since than. The fact that it just shoot off out of nowhere, still confuses me.

Either Way, Im sitting out of the DIY for a while. I have a brand new Tc that is only going to need oil changes for the next 100k miles.

Im going back to being a ricer for a while, Im thinking some neon lights.

And in all honesty, this is the only thing Ive effed up on the Prelude. Everything else, was just the reprocussions of buying a junk motor.

Christ man, you guys are a bunch of losers. Damn, I make a friggin post, cause It was my understanding that their were a few people who were waiting for this car to be finished. And I junked it, and instead of just forgeting about it, I made a post about it so they wouldnt be waiting.

But for all the **** talkers, I didnt know I had so many, so [freak] all of them.

Now this last comment is not for everyone, just the people on this board who talk **** about me.

I would love to keep working on the lude. But I no longer care to continue this opperation. Its costing me to much money, and is easier to just bag it. Just to rub it in all off your faces that I can finish it. I know I can, I have done nothing wrong to this car except the last thing. I have gone one hell of a long way, and am pretty damn proud of it. So I made a noob mistake, as if your better and never made 1 mistake. WOw your so cool. Seriously, and the thing with the paint. I know it looked like crap, but it was just an experiement with custom desgines. And it failed, who cares, the important thing is that you learn from your mistakes. Ive spent more money on both my ludes than some of you make in three years. Half of you tools on here, dont even have jobs and still live with mom and dad. Me on the other hand, stand on my own two feet. Besides, what do I really have to prove to a bunch of nobodies on the internet. Some of the people on this board have been cool and helpful to me. This message is not directed at them, its directed at the people who decided to laugh at my mistakes. Go ahead, just remember that odds are I am more successful than 99 percent of those tools that do that. Just cause I made a few mistakes doesnt mean anything, you live and learn. And I want to thank those who helped me over the year on here, and want to spit on those who have mocked me. But they are losers anyway, they get spit at in real life.

Thank You

the best way to learn is through your mistakes, however, you have to be weary about discussing topics that you are unsure of. That was my biggest deal with you.

Nice guy though and I appreciate all the thread reporting you have done in the past.

Yeah man its cool, I know there a few just breaking *****. But I love how people are giving me crap about the valve cover. I said before it was just a trial on doing stencel designes with Vinyl decals. I grabbed the only paint cans in my closet which were Ford Blue, And Gloss Black.

It really looks a whole lot better in person, just the camera sucks. But Ive been working with new ideas on it to make it work out better, I will finish the vavle cover the end of this week, cause I have a handful of people waiting to see if the stencil design thing will work better with Painters tape as opposed to premade vinyl.

And yes I know I do tend to BS on topics that I dont know much about.
