WOW, you already overpaid for a fluffed up Si. You should have gotten a "normal" Si and done the conversion for the same amount of loot. PM me if you do it and I will buy all your Mugen aero parts.

You should do whatever you want to do to your car, unless you care what other people think, then it's a no win situation from multiple points of views.

Remember, the front and rear lip kits are Mugen specific to the USDM Civic Si from the factory. I think the rear is the same as the JDM Mugen, but I'd have to verify that.

More and more JDM conversions will be done as time passes. I personally like the JDM and CDM front clips better then our USDM, but that's just my opnion, and I'm sure there will be someone here who will disagree. But hey it's your money, and if you want to, go for it. Maybe you can have your Mugen Si end up like the one below:

He obviously cares, because he asked (in a public forum) what everyone thought.

Of course I know he cares. That's why I posted a nice pic of the JDM Mugen Civic. If he does get a front end conversion, he may decide to go forth with the Mugen lip and possibly put his mind at ease about his Mugen Si Rarity.

i agree with you on the sedan... the USDM sedans are really plain imo. i can't wait to do the type r conversion... but a mugen is seriously something that shouldn't be touched.... it's the i guess u can say "Type R style" of the US SI.

for some reason every mugen that i've come across or seen has been

1. Pimped out
2. Changed
3. Crashed
4. Totalled

when i was working for honda, a guy brought back the mugen he bought from us and both fenders were dented, the car was keyed, windows nearly shattered and the car was screwed up... and it was all done by his own dad.

How do you plan on doing this? Don't you have a coupe?

EDIT: I neglected to read your sig . Good luck on finding a TW FA5, took me a while to find mine.

I whole heartedly concur. Now back to the subject,

Keep it as is. If you wanted to crazy on the car, you could have save loads of cash and bought a fiji sedan (just like what everyone else in here is saying) and dumped the cash you saved into modding.

doing the conversion will drop the value of your car, you are better off trading soemone for their plus cash, i did the rear, front type r conversion and rims and i so far spent 9k which is same price as a mugen si, you'll be around 36-37k for a civic, lotsa money

Dude just do the conversion and save all the parts, so when the time comes when you feel you're ready to sell it (if ever) you'll just take off the JDM sell that so someone like me and then just put the stock mugen goods back on and wallah no one will ever know, the car will be happy the next owner will never know his car wasnt always like that, you'll be happy with the $$$ and whatever you use it for in the long run...badabing badaboom ya know, simple as that.

y is everyone making this so difficult, stop over analyzing this

I think the point that's trying to be made here is that the OP already paid $9k for a mugen appearance package on his civic, right? If he takes off the Mugen body parts, then he paid $9k for a shifter and a muffler.

whatever, if he wants to do it then he should.

I have a Mugen si as well and i was thinking the same thing... but the only way I will do it is if I replace the front end with the jdm Mugen front end while keeping the original safe in my garage!! Its not cheap though!

That's rough. When I was working in automotive windshield replace/repair, I saw some beatup Hondas. By beatup I mean that someone took a baseball bat to them.

Headlights smashed, taillights smashed, windows all around smashed clean out, not to mention the car was keyed about 3 to 4 times.
