Default (sorry, i know this come up all the time but i need help) no spark

i recently replaced my head gasket and once i put everything back together the engine wont start. fuel is getting to the engine but i pulled the the plugs and no spark. cap, rotor and wires are all good, plugs in right order and timing is good.

i went to test the coil but i'm not sure what kind of ohms and voltage i need to look for.

nothing between the two input terminals (+ and -) on the coil but the coil is directly putting out 12 volts from the terminal feeding the rotor. (not sure if that helps)

thank you if anyone has anything

Did you re-connect the ground on the intake manifold? That's what I didn't do. Get the manual and it will tell you what ohms you should look for between the primary terminals and the primary and secondary, but the first should be low, and the other very high. That's one thing to check.

Does the check engine light come on for two seconds when you turn the car on? If not then it's probably that ground.

Also, post what car you have too.

thanks for all you help! except gqstatus05.

i went through all the grounds and the entire ignition system and the coil turned out to be the culprit. she runs like a champ now!
