Quick question, EG vs EK shocks/struts
I don't have either in front of me and haven't had the chance to look at both, but I heard that there is a difference and there is a way to modify EG struts w/ springs to put in an EK. What are the differences if they just don't bolt up? And what would I need to do to do it right?
I'm basically trying to just put an entire strut assembly and spring and little horseshoe piece right into an EK and apparently I can't just do that.

Searching is a good thing. LOTS of information on this if you spend more than 2 seconds looking.
Fronts fit fine.
Rears have different fork widths between the 2 generations. I will leave it up to YOU to find out which is thinner.

I actually went through the entire FAQ thread looking for the answer, and otherwise I wasn't trying to spend 3 hours trying to find the right combination of words so my search could be found. Instead I figured maybe someone who's dealt with the problem could chime in quickly and problem would be solved.
Thanks though

Sorry, I thought you were only talking about the fronts...
The 92-95 Civic rear shocks will fit on a 96-00 Civic control arm... ~> You will need to add aprox. 2-3 flat washers on each side of the control arm so there is no play between the shock fork and control arm!
Now, if you have a 92-95 Civic and you're trying to put 96-00 rear suspension on it; its not going to work! The 96-00 rear control arms are a lot thinner causing the shock forks to be thinner! I hope I didnt go over your head!

Yeah well I was unable to read the last two, but somewhere I caught a little wind that EG rear forks were a little wider and that was all I needed to know. I didn't really use washers just tightened it a bit. I seriously wasn't expecting the rear LCA's to be soooooooo paper thin on EKs

things I found was that the rear of the eg/ej1(92-95) strut fork is wider than the EK/EJ9.
and the strut mount in the front of the EK is wider than the EG.
I ran into a lot more compatibility problems in other parts of the suspension and brakes also
