So the swap (b16a3) is going in sometime this next week, it'll be ran on an obd2 si ecu. The thing I'm looking for next is a set of CTR cams, but as we all know - they have to be tuned. Well, directly after the CTR cams is boost.. so i'm looking at what's the best option for both? I plan to get a used greddy kit for the turbo kit (for sake of simplicity installation wise), but I know emanage is **** anyhow. So I want to pick up a good program for the cams that I can also use later on boost. I was considering Hondata, but that ***** expensive..

Any input? It'd be ran on obd1...

 

Don't skimp on engine management or you will end up with broken ringlands & a car that runs like crap.

Hondata, Neptune, Ectune are the choices in my book.

 

Uberdata? I used it once before and it seemed like a solid setup to me.

 

If you're gonna run freeware, Crome would probably be a better choice since a lot of people are still running it and there's a good amount of support available for it.

I guess the question is, why do people buy Hondata (for like $500) when you still have to get a p28 chipped and conversion harness. I mean, with the chipped ecu and harness, why wouldn't you run freeware like uberdata or chrome?

s300 is possibly as close to AEM as you can get..........

but Ectune is getting a lot of the same features as the s300.

The answer is that Hondata is somewhat more bug free than crome (crome, not chrome). I say this from research and from friends who have had both.

Would I run crome if that's what my budget allowed?? Sure! It would just take some time to research and become familiar with the ins and outs of the software. If you want the most simple way, then something like AEM (plug and play stand alone) would be for you. But if you don't wanna spend $1200 and free-$150 is more in your ballpark then crome or ectune would do you better.

I originally had my car tuned with an afc hack (back when I knew even less than I do now) and when my ringlands went I decided that I would never go down that road again and bought an AEM unit. If I didn't I would prolly be running crome/ectune now.
