intake for K20Z3
It all depends on you.
-Do you still want the engine bay to look stock? = go with a drop in filter. A Spoon Sports drop in filter is available now through opakracing.com. (This is what I will be getting soon)
-Short Ram Intake = There are many choices for these and you don't have to worry about getting the filter and potentially getting water into the engine, i.e. like cold air intakes can do. (I've seen many dynos and many people use the Injen short ram. They have gotten between 2-6 hp gain, probably due to different climates where they all live) This would be my choice if you go this route.
-Cold Air Intake = read above mentioned issue about this type of intake. (If you go this route, I reccommend the AEM cold air due to a long history of quality. I've seen the AEM perform as well as the Injen short ram, see above. AEM intakes come in different colors as well so you can choose accordingly).
I've probably mentioned a lot of info you already are familiar with, but just wanted to cover it anyways. Plus, Password products are quality, but very expensive. You can find the same parts much cheaper elsewhere. JHPUSA.com has quality inexpensive parts for sale. That is where I ordered my authentic Mugen door visors from for my FA5 Si. Unfortunately, they don't have a selection of intakes, everything else though.
Well, g/l with your choice, hopefully this info helps in way for you.

I have looked everywhere for Spoon products, especially the air filter for a 2008 civic SI... I cant find one. I even checked opakracing.com. Can you provide a link to this?
By the way, I live in Seattle (*rains) and I have a CAI and no probs with it. You seriously have to drive through a river to get hydrolock...

Go to http://www.opakracing.com, click on 'Products', click on picture for spoon sports, that will link you to http://www.spoonsports.us, click on FD2, that brings up your choices, intake/exhaust/etc., there you will find the filter.
Sorry for misleading you. Its actually spoonsports.us, but you can go through opakracing.com

i was also thinkin of an intake to put in mine..but do u get da same sound wit a short ram as wit the cold air? just a lil shaky bout the water issue wit da cold air
As someone above mentioned, you really need to drive through some deep standing water to hydrolock. If you still fear hydrolock, AEM does have a filter cover you can use.
I use the AEM Cold Air and really like it. It sounds great when you step on it and looks good under the hood as well. As for performance, you are not going to get much of anything from any intake, Cold Air or Short Ram. The stock box Honda put on these engines are pretty darn efficient.
