Help Bike keeps dying
My bike keeps dying, died less than a month ago while I was at work got home charged the battery up then died again on me bout week and a half ago so I got a new battery b/c I thought since I neglected the batt over winter it was weakened. Got the new batt and it died on me at the bank today. So now I know there has to be something wrong with it. Is the generator shot? What do you guys think?
Either the alternator or the voltage regulator
There are a few ways to test this. If you have a voltmeter, put it on the battery and read the voltage. Then let the bike idle and read the voltage. Then rev the bike up to around 5k and the voltage should rise up a few volts.
If it doesn't then you have a charging system problem, and it is probably the voltage regulator. There is an excellent writeup for testing the charging system on a cbr F3, it should help guide you in the right direction:
