well i have been working on this thing non-stop and still have a lot to go, but so far i have fixed all the little stupid things and got the security part done first, and today i washed it with some dish soap and cleaned heR really good so i could throw a coat of wax on it
I also got rid of the ugly *** clear corner lights
some pics
unknown springs

right after the dish soap with no wax etc

and here are some from a couple of my favorite local photo spots after a quick wax job... btw what wax does everyone use on their nbp or fbp R?

i hope you're joking.
dish soap has too hard of detergents for clear coats and after several years, you'll really notice it. get the real thing! any car wash liquid is better than dish soap!

ive always used a little bit of dish soap to get rid of all the old wax etc on the paint, common carwash soap is made to not strip the old stuff off, i wanted it down to the clearcoat and to start fresh

thats weird, i was always told my a good friend who does body work to add a couple drops of dishsoap to the regular stuff to help get rid of the old wax/residue
oh well, the car is getting stripped down and getting fresh paint this winter anyways as im not that happy with the paint thats on the caR now

i believe ya, as its not something i do only when the cars paint is pretty rough and i want to start with nothing on the car, but ive never had a problem doing this once a year with some of my cars to strip off the old wax etc, but from now on, what do i use to get these off the car before a fresh coat of wax?

well, i guess the logic is right since the dish soap will "cut" through old wax. as long as it's just a few drops and only done once a year... i had the impression that's all you were using along with water... like once a month or something... if that were the case, you'd notice it quick. what's with you baller guys and entire repaints???

ya thats the logic behind it, ive searched it on google all night and it seem 50/50 although most say that as long as you wax right after doing it you will be ok
and if your going to do something, you might as well do it right (repaint)

Kind of hard to notice from the pics but you have taken off the weather stripping on the rear wheel wells? Living in PA that's something you should highly consider removing and leaving off so that you don't get cancer. Car looks clean from the pics, what else are you planning on doing to it?

ya, thats one of the first things i do when i get a honda/acura
basically plan on getting a fresh repaint, recaros', and undecided on the motor, im pretty sure i wont turbo it like the past couple of integras, but its definetly not fast enough right now, its quick, but not fast

I just used ICE for the first time last week. Good stuff. Very easy to apply and take off. I think I was done after like 20mins. I am thinking about doing it again today too.

I'm a big fan of Wolfgand products in the summer, but I use Poor Boys Carnuaba in the winter.

I also use the Stoner line of products for the tires/interior. Doesn't leave a film or greasy mess.

stoner window glass cleaner does wonders on my r, but i see the logic about the dish soap. but during my 7 years of owning the car no dish soap has ever been on it
