Default Junk in the trunk

Simple question:

How do you keep all of your sh!te from rolling around in your trunk? No, i don't want to remove everything. I'd like to keep little things like an umbrella, my baseball bat when i'm in the gu-hetto (although guns are the weapon of choice in b'more city ) all all of my softball stuff.

I tried the hammock style cargo net and the thing fell off 2 days later, not to mention the thing basically takes up most of your trunk space sine you have to lift stuff over it if its too big to go IN it.

Aren't there cargo nets that lay flat for our civics? No one i've gone to seems to think there is. I'm considering ordering one for another make/model and crossing my fingers praying that it turns out to be universal.

your thoughts?

I think velcro will stick to whatever the inside of the trunk is lined with. If that is the case, what if you took something about size of a 2x4 (maybe not quite as wide), attached some velcro to one side, and stuck it on the floor of the trunk near the back of the car. If it worked, it would give you an adjustable space to put stuff in and keep it from moving. I just now thought of this so I am not sure if it would actually work. I may end up testing it myself.

I stuck some Velcro on the bottom of a box and like chiggin said it stick and does not move. Its also easy to remove if I need the space. Plus it only cast a $2-5 for some Velcro at the grocery store.

The all weather mat covers the floor of the trunk but not the sides right? What if you made straps with velcro on the ends that you could use to secure items up against the sides of the trunk?
