Is your car lowered? If so, how much?

Get a +42ish and you'll be fine. A +45 will start moving you too close to the control arms and inner fender.

You don't think he will rub when he turns the wheel hard over?

Hmmm, i knew a guy that had 225/45-17's on DC5-R wheels on his ITR. It was stock height and I dont think he had any issues with that big tire.
Hope this helps some.

17x7.5 +45 215 45 17 tire

I had rubbing issues with a rolled fender when I had people sit in the back and when I would take a corner hard.

Noticed I am not too low either.

This is a 17in 4x100pcd +43, width I don't know but my guess its either 7 or 7.5, anyways if you see the difference my wheels are a little out more than his. This guy is slammed and tucked, there is no way I could do that with a +45 and not rub.

My advice is get a 17x7.5 +42,+43 with a 215 45 17 tire. If I were to get a 17in wheel again for my R I would go with a +42,+43

Don't get a 215/45/17, get a 215/40/17. A 215/45 is too tall and will hurt acceleration.

With the exception of Kahuna's. That caR is hot. Althought if it was on a track it COULD be hotter...

you mind if i ask why you want 17's? if its just for street wheels, and to look good, id recommend driving in a car with 17s and 40 series tires, cuz it sucks pretty hard on the street, its pretty rough, really harsh bumps

it may not seem like it make a difference, but 16's with a 45 series tire rides much better on the street, true you could get 45 series on your 17s but that be a pretty big tire, and look pretty silly buy hey its your car

Do any of you think a 17x8 +42 will have problems on a lowered R? I mean its the correct offset but larger width.

I think Im going with kahuna, because i already have 16"s track rims (rpf1) so these are my cruisin wheels, and i wouldnt mind 45's to soften the noise a little bit, by the way I am getting Advan RGII's and they pretty penny...

Sorry for bumping an older thread but I have a question.

My car is not lowered (yet) and I do not plan on slamming it, I'm looking at a set of 17x7.5 +40 offset Volk Racing SE37K's. Will I get away with 215/40R17 or do I have to stick with 205/40R17?

SE37K's huh, well if you want to protect the rim from being bent 215 45 is the way to go. Im looking at a set of K's myself I found BNIB to buy and thats what I will be running if I decide to buy the rims.

I thought about 215/45R17 but will I be okay without having to roll the fenders? Slight drop, maybe 1-1.5"?

Haha, here's a picture of my car test fitting my buddies 18x7.5" LE37's w/ 225/45R18. I didn't even try to drive it around.

These are what I'm looking into, they've been refinished with the oem gunmetal paint code.
