Any guesses why then i'm throwing Code 23? Which is the knock sensor?

This happened after I installed hondata gasget. didn't touch the ecu but I did yank the manifold off. is there a sensor or plug on the back of the block I could have messed up which getting to that IM bolt?

I think you just have a trottle position,O2,MAP,Intake Air Sensor. the last 2 being on the manifold-somebody say if they are 100 percent on this

 

well, i'm about 100% sure the d series don't have a knock sensor... don't know why i'm throwing that code though

 

no the d16 does not have a knock sensor.. check the code agian to make sure.. sounds odd to me..

 

yeah, tell me about it. I reset the ecu and drove it again... and got the CEL. pulled over and yup, it's definitely '23' which is

'23 Knock Sensor Circuit'

how could this be? anybody else ever have this problem?

 

could be refering to the CFS, basically same as a knock sensor. it's the sensor right behind the crank pully.

do d16y8s come with a knock sensor????

i'm pretty sure the d16z6 don't have one, but what about the 6th gen Ex

when I installed my B16a2, I used my civic harness, and there weren't any left over plugs, and I wasn't short any plugs either

 

ok, looks like i need to get under the car again to see if i can fix it...

or maybe i just can wait until i put in hondata cause i know the p28 ecu i have doesn't have the knock sensor

I'm having the same problem with JDM D16ZC swap with a chipped P28 ECU. Knock sensor CEL. Can't figure out what is causing it.

 

Have the knock sensor disabled in <CROME> (or whatever you're using) just to make sure. That's usually a default setting when burning basemaps.

 

Yes the d16y8 has a knock sensor in the back of the block right under the intake mani... a 2 wire plug

 

96-00 civic have knock sensors

 

yeszir the d16y8 has a knock sensor

 

ummm no. 96-00 d16y7 do NOT have knock sensor

 

Only the 96-00 d16y8 has the knock sensor.
