timing belt broke!!!!!

Default timing belt broke!!!!!

i was backing my car out of the driveway and i went 50 feet and the timing belt broke....... are my valves bent? could they be? anybody got step by step instructions on how to change it?

Its a posibility.
But you werent going fast so you might have a good chance there not.
You should change your timing belt every 4 oil changes.

are you stupid? timing belt is recommended every 100k from honda. not many go that far but 4 oil changes? come on be more realistic....atleast 20-30

my rex had a broken timing belt going about 40 mph and all the piston rods bented

4 oil changes is only 12k if you go to the full 3thousand limit. If you like doing it more power to you but i wouldnt change it that often. I guess you just have more security that it wont break.

My bros 90 HatchDX belt snapped, We got a new timing belt and water pump and done deal. No smoke either. That's the second one I have seen be alright after it snapped. Buy a new belt and try it,

If you race alot, belive me you want to change ur belts often.
Better safe then sorry.

The newer Hondas are 100k timing belt changes, CRX is 60k (if I remember correctly). I read it in the workshop manual.

I would replace it around 60k as well. On my Integra, my belt snapped at 75k but luckily it didn't do any damage.
