Default One more bumper cover question

I just dropped my car off at the body shop to have my AP2 bumper put on. I took a peek at the bumper that I had shipped to them and I noticed that the vents to the left and right of the grill were not cut out. I asked the shop if they were supposed to cut them out and they seemed to have no idea. They told me they only get cut out for fog lights but none of the US S2000's have fog lights. Does anyone know if those vents in the bumper need to be cut out? I included a picture in case im not making sense.

Hmmm it looked like it was cut out on the one in the pic above but I guess I just cant tell. I went to go down the street to the Honda dealer to look at the AP2 that they have but someone must have bought it.

Thanks for the info, I guess the body shop knows what they are talking about and I have no idea.

ding ding ding

honda never make a fog light for those vent so they are "one piece", accord vents for example are removable because they make a fog light plug in for those car. but again, fog light is useless with the hid under normal use

Do NOT cut them out! They were intended to be left as is, UNPAINTED!

Just because Honda makes a fog light for a car does not mean they have a removable vent, unfortunately. The 99-00 civic bumper requires quite a bit of cutting Just wanted to point that out

You're not supposed to. From Honda, they're black and not cut out. You should cut them and make some brake ducts though.

no need to get emo about it

tell me why it is so pertinent to leave them in place

isn't going to make a damn difference either way....if he likes them cut out then that is enough reason to do it, personal preference differs from yours, big deal

It's not, that simple.

OMG don't get me started on personal preference. I am all for people doing WHATEVER they want to their cars, unlike some people. You can't even hold your breath when someone uses the term "clean car". He never said he preferred it with or without them cut.

Hummm, lets see... I answered his question Without hating on him, or making fun of him I might add.

aww that's so cute

you are now e-cookie eligible...give me your email address and i'll priority send it to you

this really isn't that serious mr smoke

and as far as people doing what they want to their car, i'm with that too....but that doesn't mean i have to like it, and i am entitled to voice my opinion

so if i say a stock S w/ some wheels is blah, that's my opinon, while the owner may disagree....that's the beauty of discussion..if i like something i have no problem giving a compliment, and if in my opinion something is not appealing, i will state that as well....maybe that's why i'm hated, because i don't sy away from what i think to make someone happy

but i guess the majority of people post up non tech "look at my madd kustom jdm ish y0" threads with the intent of filling it with nut hugging comments...just be aware that these are open topics to all, so if someone doesn't like your car, oh well....as long as you're happy who gives a ****

Your sig says you have an 02 & youre putting on a AP2 bumper - you may need to shave some of your bumper support ends off to fit the bumper on nicely.

I've thought about trimming mine out.

Especially when there is going to be a cooler behind there..
