oil leak from cam seal?
So i'm not sure what this area is called exactly but i'm gonna go with cam seal for the time being. there seems to be a slow leak coming right from this area (circled in red). i'm wondering what needs to be replaced and how does this come apart without making the situation worse than it is. Does that black cap thing just pop out or is it like molded into the cap somehow? this is a b18b1 btw

Also i had another question and i figure i'll ask here rather than waste another thread on it. I got my skunk2 shift **** in the mail today and after installing it i kinda feel like it sits too high. Granted i have a short throw shifter already and the throws are indeed short, however this thing just sits to damn high now i think. it bugs me. Is there another shifter i can buy that sits lower and is also a short throw? If not i think i'll just hack a chunk out of this shifter and then drop it down like an inch and a half or so, and then weld it back together. thoughts?
As it sits now..

how i'd like it to sit.. (after my crap photochop job lol)

Yes that is your cam seal. Although i does not just pop out, replacement isn't too hard as long as you have the right tools and know how. When i replaced mine i referred to this:
