Default B16 PROBLEMS

i have a 1990 integra with a b16 swap and its having some troubles with idling and not popping v-tech. when it idles cold it bogs from 2600 to 1600, when it warms up it bogs from 2100 to 1100 and whe i get to the RPM's where v-tech should pop i feel the v-tech pop but it holds back it also redlines at 7000 rpms but shouldnt a b16 redline at around 8200? i have all the info and numbers on the engine and was wondering if i could get some imput on whats going on. if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated!

For the vtec problem make sure u wired everything you should have. You should have added three wires. The first should be the vtec selenoid, the second is the vtec oil pressure switch, and the last is the knock senser. Make sure you wire these strait to the ecu to the correct pins. The Vtec selenoid should go to A8, The pressure switch goes to B5 ( the second wire should be grounded), And the knock senser sould go to C8. Also make sure u have enough oil in the motor and it is at proper temp.

For the revving problem, try to look for leaks of any kind. (Vac lines, TB gasket, IM gasket, and injector o rings.) If that dose not work you need to fix the valve under your TB.

This is the valve you need to fix, you might want to take it off the Intake Manifold to fix it.

Look behind it and you should find this little cover.

Take it off and look inside. There is a white plastic screw inside that should be tured all the way in.

IF it is loose take a flat head and tighten it all the way down till it stops. Then put it back on and start the car.

GOOD LUCK

dose your car throw a Check Engine Light? If so lood at the blinking LED light on the ECU and see what code it is throwing. If vetc is not wired correctly the ecu will redline at 7 insted of 8.

When checking a code on the ecu you look at the blinks. A fast blink = 1, A long blink = 10. So if the ecu gives out 2 long blinks, and one fast blink that = 21

To see what each code means go here: http://technet.ff-squad.com/ecu.codes.htm
