Both occupants of the Honda were ejected. The driver, 17-year-old Michael Brinkman, a Loma Linda resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Ismael Rodriguez, 20, of San Bernardino, was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition, Phelps said.
The crash busted a gas line at the complex and forced the evacuation of 100 units, Burguan said. Residents were allowed back inside at 6 a.m.
The Honda was later found to be stolen Sunday night in Highland, Burguan said.</TD></TR></TABLE>
