Insurance tryna low ball me, whats new?(Allstate)
Anyways, I got a 93 si which I bought from the dealer, Thought it was a clean title because the dealer didn't tell me otherwise. Put 2000 down for it and started doing 175/month payments. Drove it here and there, had fun with it here and there, bought parts for it here and there. I ended up deciding to go turbo for BOTI(Battle of the Import) I had it done with by the first weekend school was out. It was running crappy being untuned, but I had a chipped ecu so it was still running. That Upcoming Wednesday I decide to pull out my exhaust and started polishing it to sell for more money=]. The following night on July 19th, 2008 my car gets stolen. I had a 2 way pager alarm, and kill switch which was positioned at the same place shown on ht. They ended up getting away with my boosted single, with open freaking headers. I'm a heavy sleeper so my 2 way doesn't really do anything with that little beep beep.
Don't have pictures of the car boosted, but I do have pictures of it before it was stolen.
All taken on my 1.3mp camera phone.(VX9800)

Thats how it was, and then it got stolen and they found it the next morning, it was stripped down pretty bad.

Now the insurance company has had my car for pretty long, ever since the 19th until now... My mom did the statement thing since I couldn't. I just sent them the receipts and they received it which consisted of
Rods-324.00
Arp Head Stud Kit-121.78
Hondata s300-590.00
T70 Turbocharger T3 .70A/R-219.99 + 50.00 Shipping
intercooler-59.99 + 35.00 shipping + 5.00 shipping insurance
Timing Control 222.99
After they got my receipt, I got a call this morning, blah blah needed my moms permission. Then he started talking to me saying I would only get 2700 for my car because it's been a total loss like 3 times before I bought it. This to me seems unfair. They are giving me $250 for my slips so I'm not mad because I bought it for $300 and they were in pretty bad condition. What pisses me off some more is that they aren't giving me my receipts worth. WTF. They said they bumped it up to a well maintained engine so that gave me like $200. They aren't even close to giving me what I want. He keeps saying he's trying to get me the most money possible which I think is complete bs. He says he's gonna get an appraiser to look at it to try to get me more money. What should I do to fight with my insurance company to get all my money back from the after market parts. I don't want to sue, but I'll sue if it's the last possible chance I get.
He said total im gunna get like 2800 something. I dont think he included the wheels.
Im paying about 4000 for the car, he said I'm gonna get 2800 and still have to pay off the car and not get my car back. I think this is bs.... I don't think It would cost so much to slap some doors, interior, fenders, front bumper, and a hood. And give me the money for my receipts. Do you think I can request for him to do that even though he said it was a total loss? I just need some advice on what to do. Oh yeah I live in washington state. pierce county area.

i thnk they ripping u off....get it back rebuild or get more $$$.
But either or, u should be getting back EVERYTHING on ur receipts and the car should be repaired, if they fell its a total lost, get the car back and rebuild urself...have them compensate u for what was lost.

I got 2400 for my 94 civic that was totaled and all it had was CAI, $150 stereo, speakers + 5% sales tax so it came out to around $2600 total.
Make sure the appraisers don't deduct money for the amount of mileage on the car. They should, but dont have to, pay the full amount of the aftermarket parts, up to a certain amount, say $1500. You should get about $3500 for that car if it was in good condition. No body rust, minimal ding, dents, scratches. When the adjuster says he's trying to get you the most amount possible he is just BSing you BADLY. He works for the insurance company, not you. You should threaten to sue the company if you dont get what you want. Tell him you think your car is work say....$4500 and then they will work with that and raise the amount. Good luck man, I hope you get more money outta it. INSURANCE COMPANIES SUCK!!!

yeah, insurance companies suck and most of the time, you do have to THREATIN to sue them, they'll fold i assure you.
but remember, its never a good idea to modify cars that arent paid for, because of situations like this.

tough to say, but if your car is indeed a salvage title 9 times out of 10 you will get less than kbb value or the local going prices to you. And since you're going through Allstate they may only give you 50% back of what you paid for any type of aftermarket parts.

allstate.. not sure about them i am with AAA .. when my truck was stolen i got 5k more than what i paid for it... get a lawyer if ur not happy
well that sucks...... but 4K bucks i think you over paid unless the car expecialy if its been totaled afew times!
as to the receites i think you need to get the car appraised BEFORE it gets stolen to have a accurate appraisal... which reminds me i need to do to mine....
check the KBB.com value of the car to see what it was really worth before it was stolen..... and go alittle less from that due to previous totaled problems...
but if is just missing parts... you can always buy the car back and start piecing it back together... at least it still has the motor/tranny! if i was ever in that buisness of striping a car i woulda took everything of any value.....
and as to how they stole it they dont need to start the car to steal it... anyone can go buy a towtruck or a pickup truck with a hydrolic truck bed assmbly like alot of REPO men companies use... its low profile and drops in seconds, simply back up to the cars drive wheel, the forks lock around the wheels and just lifts it and drives off in under 30seconds... or if you car is parked backwards all it takes is those hydrolic wheel dollies to lift the wheels quickly and then push it backwards to access.
well good luck!

Insurance companys blow. They expect you to pay a ridiculous amount and have it due on the set date every time but when your **** gets messed up they give you the run around. Try and give them the run around on a payment and see what happens
Sorry to hear about your car, dude. I'm not sure how things work where you live and with your insurance, but with mine, if you total your car, you can buy it back for $100...what the insurance company sells it for to the junk yards. You should get more for the car though. Paying what guys pay for insurance, we should be getting every last dime we spend on our cars back if they're stolen.
damn that really sucks that happened to me like 5 years ago my car was totaled(93 civic hatch) on my way down to texas from mississippi i had basics i/h/e, coilovers, interior stuff and i was living in mississippi at the time so by the time i came back down the place where my car was at was sold at an auction needless to say i only got 2000 and thats cause i got an attorney. man i wish i still had my hatch!!!
ok sorry i didnt read all the posts but technically they should only give you back what you paid for the car OR go by KBB. If you insured all the aftermarket things(turbo, IC, etc) and you provided them with receipts then they should give you want the car is worth + all the extra stuff. They are only insuring the car, to get all the aftermarket and extra stuff you put on it will cost extra a month to insure it.

Most insurance companys use NADA for car price estimates. KBB is more of a citizens use type of thing.

So i finally got in touch with my insurance company. They said I couldn't buy the car back from a total theft recovery. I told them then 2800 was wayyy too little for my car, and that if I only got 2800 then I would need to spend 2000 to the dealership and that would leave me with 800 for a car and thats way too little. So I was thinking they could just give me the car back, and pay for th e parts and just be done with it right there, but they don't do that.... she told me to call back the person whos settling the amount im getting and hes not gunna be back til the 14th so I have to wait......
1. should of checked everything out before u were gonna pay 4grand for it
2. no need for an alarm 2way if u're not gonna hear ur pager go off
3. insurance company u have is a PITA, because my bro's gsr da got smashed in the rear and it was totaled! they still gave him his car back for 100
4. best of luck to you and just like everyone said, threaten to sue them!

insurance only goes on the kbb...since it had a salvage title.. that is less..no matter if u have a fully built sohc or a stock sohc.. they go on the base engine...a few more bucks for well maintained...but i really dont think ur gunna get anywhere as far as gettin more..no way u will get anywhere near 4g...thats like when u trade a car in.. they dont care about mods...rims and tires and sterio the insurance company will compensate...but the motor..sol!
yeah i shouldve check everything, the 2 way pager was from my ef, so I just added it on, its better than no alarm. Yes my insurance company is a pita. I will threaton to sue them if i don't get what I think I truly deserve. I probably paid them about what my cars worth, but my moms been with them for awhile.
They trying to fk u over....dont let them do that, just keep complaining wait for the 14th talk to that guy, try get car back and some compensation, if they give u 2800 try buy the car off them, if its a total loss like they said u should be able to get it back for like under 500.......
I wish i can go at it with ur insurance for u, i cant explain myself good through this, but i wouldnt let them give me the run around...u should be giving them the run around....
Just like u said in ur fist post.....they say the car is a total loss it shouldnt be aproblem buying it back from them, its been a total loss before 3 times like u said, and was still sold for 4k to u........this thread is pissing me off (bcuz of fking insurance)...
Fk the insurance company...next time u call be more confident in what you want, dont ask, demand it.....if they dont want to sell u the car back, im sure they will rebuild and sell again...if it was really a total loss, there shouldnt be a problem with them selling it to u for under 500 along with the compensation of the 2800.

I remember when my EG got hit. It was totally fixable and the insurance company said it was a total loss and they wouldn't budge. I told them that is was of sedimental (spelling?) value to me and I couldn't part ways with it. They finally agreed to fix it. You might want to try this too...
Well firstly, OP it was your fault for not asking if the car had a clean title. You WAY overpaid for your car to begin with. I wouldn't have paid $3k for that car with a clean title (just sayin'). Insurance is gonna go with the KBB *salvaged* value of the car, not off of what you paid. If you paid $10k for a car and blue book says it's worth $5k, you're not gonna get anywhere close to your $10k unless you put up one hell of a fight, which in the end probably won't be worth your time. I digress... The parts that you added to your car don't add much, if any, value to your car in their eyes. What you MIGHT try doing, is saying, "look, how much money can you give me WITHOUT totalling the car?" (maybe $1500 or so?) That way, you keep your car, still a salvaged car, but with that $1500 you should be able to buy enough of those parts back to get you up and running again.
