Default LSVTEC or GSR?? Need some opinions.

Alright, I have the opportunity to trade my friend my LS with my trans, and ecu for his GSR longblock. All the gsr needs is a ecu, trans, and intake manifold. Now I know the LS VTEC will give a little more torque vs. a gsr. But I mean, I have to still buy the little things like the water pump, timing belt, oil pump, lsvtec kit, head studs, and I have still get rod bolts to make it be able to make power past 7K and not throw a bearing or anything along those lines. To be honest, I like the thought of an lsvtec, but I don't want to open the block up. I just want something real simple I don't have to mess with too much and just do bolt ons to and not have to worry about. What do you think??

It sounds to me like youve already got the right idea. If you dont want to mess with building a block, an LS/VTEC is not for you.

What are you power goals? Stock swap? 170? 200?
You could prolly get your needs with a gsr swap and the lesser torque will give you more traction in that ef chassis.

I really have no power goals in mind. About 200 at the crank would be good though. That could be acheived with bolt ons I guess. I/H/E/IM/TB/ and a good tune. My main goal is I want to be able to run a high 13 too if that helps anyone. I know that be acheived cause my friend managed a 13.8 with a GSR with bolt ons in the EF I bought from him. Granted he's a good driver and I'm not, but yeah, we'll say low 14s for me.
