this jus happend yesterday i was driving and my car has been burning oil for god noes how long so ive been add oil n for a while but yesterday accelerating from a stoplight and about 3k rpm it gets no power at all the rpm s go up but no power and sounds like it might b knocking a bit and it starts running really rich black smoke starts to com out its not in limp mode the only codes i had were 17 vss and o2 sensor there was a code 7 for tps but a wire came undone so i fixed that and still same results ok hers my setup

stock dx motor mpfi swap and si tranny thats it help???

Could be the TPS, but it could also be other things; did you reset the ECU?

 

yea i reset it its still wolnt let me rev past 3 or it does but theres no power and it boggles alot i think i short circuit it or somthing a wire came loose that goes to the tps could that burn it out? if it hit bare metal ??

 

Thats the same way my B18a performed right before the rod said Peace! Jack your car up, pull the oil pan and see whats going on downstairs. If its burning oil, losing power and knocking odds are your motor is about had

 

If your tps is bad or goin bad it could make it sound like a spark knock and you will notice weird acceleration problems. It could also cause the smoke by feeding in too much fuel. But on the other hand it could be a whole different monster.
