What's the differences between EF3, EF7, EF8, EF9 and all the others? What model years are they and what are the body differences between them all. Pictures would be awesome. Thanks guys.

PS--Which one would my car be? It is an 89 HB STD

Default ok.........................

your car is nothing of the sort. your car is an ed series because its usdm unless i am mistaken and u imported it which is unlikey. now we jdm freaks refer to our cars as ef's based purely on the fact that we wish we hadem. lol. anyways if youd like to know exactly what urs is look at your vin number.also the difference between them is as follows. some have the long bumper lenses and lip on the bumper.some look the same as the 88-89 usdm and the others look the same as the 90-91 usdm i believe. i may be mistaken about the 90-91.

here's how to find out.

1. unlock driver side door.
2. open door.
3. pull the hood release lever.
4. go to the front of the car and lift the hood slightly and release the safety hood latch.
5. open hood fully and prop open with factory hook or a piece of wood.
6. looking at the firewall near the MAP sensor... locate a series of numbers and letters (AKA Vin number).
7. ignore the first 4 or 5 numbers/letters until you get "Exxx"... should be "ED9xxx"...

that's what you have. "ED9"

my '94 civic is a ej2

Or you can just look through your windshield at the dash. You have an ED6.

ED6 - Civic hatch w/ 1.5 (STD & DX)
ED7 - Civic hatch w/ 1.6 (Si)
ED8 - CRX w/ 1.5 (HF & DX)
ED9 - CRX w/ 1.6 (Si)
