look in the vin (3rd 4th and 5th #s, i think?), it'll probably say something like EJ6 or EJ8. i call them EJs, not EKs, but i don't think anybody really cares

it is the most retarded thing ever to refer to your car with it's us VIN code. just call it an EF if it's an 88-91 hatch, an EG if it's a 92-95 hatch, or an EK if it's a 96-00 hatch. i know the car is not from japan, but that is the chassis code used in japan in general to refer to that type of car. i mean honestly, who has the whole list of US/JDM vin codes memorized to know the tens of different combinations and what each one means?

i had a 99 civic cx with a b18c5 (now sold), and i always refered to it as an ek. however, i never said EK9, because it's definitely not a JDM Civic Type R.

there's my two cents.

what yumvtec said was the accepted thing around here. you will be whipped if you use the EG6/EK9 terms, however, so just call it an EK or a 6th gen. sig is much better, too
