"Maint Req" lite and fuel filter questions.
Hey ya;
02 Accord LX 4 cyl, auto.
When I start the car or just turn on the ign switch the "Maint Req" lite blinks 10 times. I don't remember it doing this before, thought it just came on then went off. Just me?
Went looking for a fuel filter at Advance Auto and O'Reilly, They can't get them. Say it's a dealer item. Options?
Thanks.

the maintainance required light is basically an idoit light. tells you when to take the car back to the dealer for a the regular maintainance schedual.
easy fix to get rid of it.... hold the trip reset button down, and then switch your key to ON, not start. continue to hold this button for 10-15 seconds. the light will go out. if not, try again.
im in the same boat as you as far as the fuel filter issue. i have yet to find it outside of a dealer parts department. good luck

Do you have your owner's manual? It'll tell you about the maintenance light - basically it starts flashing when you start the car 6,000 miles after you last reset it and stays on constantly 7,500 miles after you last reset it. It's a reminder to do maintenance, easy to reset (see post above).
As for the fuel filter, I didn't think that they were supposed to be replaced as a part of routine maintenance but I'm not sure. I haven't changed mine ('99 LX, 94,000 miles).

I am 95% sure all 6th gen Accords have no fuel filter. They only have a "sock type" filter in the gas tank which is unserviceable. So it's all good. Now I'm 100% sure.
