Default What hatch to buy, 93 Si or 96 DX

The 93 Si is stock, but has 15" Konigs, tint, exhaust, great condition.
The 96 DX comes with I/E, lowered on 4" adj with camber, part riced out. The guy who owned it like paint some dash things.

I can get both cars, but I DONT KNOW what one, an suggestions?

SI!!!!

The DX weights more, has less goodies. and doesn't have a VTEC engine a rear sway bar or disk brakes in the rear.

OH, OBDI vs. OBDII (better yet, tunable vs. not tunable.)

The DX weighs more?!!! Step away from the bong,.... Slowly

The SI actually weighs more but your choice really depends on what you want to do with the car. The SI is a good choice for a fun car right off the line. The D16Z6 is a great engine for what it is. If you plan to do any serious upgrades, particularly an engine swap, i would pick the DX. Its LIGHTER to begin with, has more room for serious performance and its a newer chassis.

Of couse you could do the same things to the SI with the same ultimate results, I guess it really comes down to price and condition. I like the SI personally and the 5G hatchback style is my favorite among the civics.

Just my 2 cents for whatever it's worth.

No USDM hatch ever came with a rear sway. 93si will have a sunroof,A/C,C/C,all that stuff,I'm not sure about hard numbers, but would assume that the 93 would still be lighter even with that stuff. You can always swap to rear discs on a 96. There are also plenty of companies now that make ECU jumper harnesses and chipped ECU's that will overcome a lot of the OBDII headaches. The real question is what is your long term goal for the car? Are the daily driven luxuries something that you are going to want or are you planning to be a track rat?

Oh yeah, also, the 93 is off the Integra platform,so from a budget standpoint almost all the parts are interchangeable so many can be obtained from salvage yards etc. and still be an "upgrade"
