yea one of my fan fuses blew and it kept trying to overheat whenever I got stuck in traffic.

I have a question to this one? I have a b16 swap into my 91 hatch si. The blue wire to the fan is cut and grounded to a bolt on the chassis. My fan stays on all the time. Could this be a fan relay problem. When I put the wires back to stock the fan doesnt turn on at all. Fan relay correct?
I have owned 3 Hondas now and the damn radiator fan never works. Never had my car overheat in traffic before, but I would rather it worked... where is the relay for the fan on a B16A? Is that the fan sensor that "screws" into the engine?
From my experiences.... not much. As long as you dont live somewhere really hot and you dont need to sit in traffic during your ride to school/work.
I could beat the **** out of my b16 on a 60 degree evening and it would love it. The rad got all the flow it needed while I wasted tsi's and 5 litres.
Also, FWIW. My b16 kept dynoing higher and higher the hotter it got. rings seal better the hotter they get you know

that only the case on obd0 motors if its a obd1 or newer the fan switch is on the thermostat housing.

I have a obdo b16 on a 91 hatch si. I noticed when I looked in the back of the engine bay I had a plug left unplugged ( the plug has 2 wires from it).
Could that be from my fan relay. Also where should the fan relay supposed to be.. on the back of the engine block it self..

I used to think my fan wasn't working also, and I finally got it to come on when I let it sit and idle for 30-45 min. it just takes a long time for it to get all the way up to temp.
but if your temp gauge is reading hot and the fan still isn't on you have a problem.

im running my radiator fan with a switch that i control. I live in the desert and it is always 100-105+ here during the summer. I never use my fan unless im sitting in a drive-thru or in traffic for at least 10 min. All other times the car runs right in the middle of the gauge if not a little under halfway

well it also depends on your rad size/condition, and also the same goes for coolent..
well kinda.
anyways what i have to mine is that like the one guy said his is grounded and spins always... well if you keep your stock computer controlled setup, and also run a seperate ground but run a switch and a fuse to it, even if the computer hasnt kicked your fan on you can hit that switch and kick it on yourself...

my fan works just fine but i go through the coolant in my overflow like every 2-3 days and i start to over heat when im haulin *** in 3rd and 4th. but the radiator hose has good pressure and shows no leaks.. ya think i have some needle size leak somewhere.. the motors a c5 what do ya guys think
my fan is on all the time, no problems with coolant my reserve is always full. I have a b16
I was thinking of switching the fan relay is it hard to do. Also I have a 91 hatch si with the 88-91 b16a1 in it. What fan relay do I get, can I get the one from a 92-95 del sol dohc vtec??

I havn't run a fan in a few years ( just getting around to fixing it ). Never noticed a problem until i was in traffic one day and like everyone else said, it will over heat. turning the heat on full blast will make the temp go back to normal but who wants to have to do that.
I know the switch is on the back of the block, although, I thought that the relays where attached to the core support behind the passenger side headlight.
Not that I really care mine are run on my own switches & fuse. Before I wired it up myself my LS would over heat w/o the fan at lights for more then 1.5 min.. It would even do it if I romped on it up through 3rd.

I live in socal and I am running with out a fan and I have never overheated. I really only have some what of a problem when i sit in traffic for a long time in stop and go for an hour in the summer and it just barely raises.
