best thing to cap axle holes on tranny with?
i need to store a tranny for a while and want to do so with it filled with oil, but i need to plug the holes where the axles go. anyone know of something that'll fit in there nicely?

Go to a junkyard that sells transmissions or transmission repair shop. They make plastic plugs that are specifically made for that. You should be able to get a couple for free.
