Default Bad noise when i shift!

ok so i was driving earlier, and i saw my friend in his dc5 on the highway. when we got off, we were messing around a bit and when i shifted into 2nd and 3rd, i heard like a grinding noise. It's not like when you miss shift ccuase it goes right into gear. anyone know what this is. thanks

You could have just let the clutch out too soon while it was going into gear. If it's the first time, you're good.
