ok i made this up quick so it may not be perfect. Feel free to check it out and give me feedback. This utility takes all of the time consuming equations out of plotting points on a compressor map. Its as easy as putting in some numbers and plotting the points. The compressor maps are available from the turbonetics web page. I hosted the file with geocities but i dont know how many people can d/l it before they shut it off. Feel free to host the file if you want. have fun

looks good, but someone give me a quick rundown on what to use for volumetric efficiency.

 

ill try to explain how to use it but im in a hurry i gotta change my oil before work.

theres a screenshot even though you prob cant see it because image station shrinks the pics
Boost - this is kind of obvious...the boost pressure you want to run
i/c pressure drop - also obvious...the pressure drop across the i/c used to figure out the total boost put out by the turbo not the boost at the intake mani
engine speed - rpm that you want to graph for...i would start with redline and work you way down so you can see where you are on the map through the whole rpm range. keep in mind you wont be making max boost at low rpms so adjust the boost pressure accordingly
post i/c temp - the air temp after the intercooler...i felt 130 was a good number so i used that but you can change it as needed
displacement - displacement of your engine in cubic inches forget the actual conversion but i think my b16 was around 98 ci
volumetric efficiency - 90% is a good number for most modern 4cyl...but can also be changed as needed
underhood air temp - obvious...i choose 85 as an all around number you can also change that
basically to get a good idea all you need to change is the boost pressure, pressure drop, rpm, and displacement. put in multiple rpms and record the outputs...grab some compressor maps from turbonetics and start plotting! hope this helps

Well i did it and it told me i should have a T66. Thats what i was planning on getting that anyway, should make for a nice street machine.

Wow, thanks alot man, this thing is great. Crunching all the numbers on a calculator and having to check all the formulas, etc. was alot more time consuming, this makes things much easier.

that would be tight. I found a bug with this one, when I alter the underhood temp. it has an error that exits the program, but it still works great otherwise.

I think this might be the best compressor map for my figures, but i'm a n00b with these types of charts...

Do I plot these figures on a compressor graph and try to hit the "bullseye" (highest efficiency) of the compressor chart to figure out which turbo is the best for me?

I'm trying to find a turbo that will spool up @ 4000 and give me a nice big fat torque curve (225 ft lbs) from 4000 to 9000 on 1707 cc's of displacement on 14 lbs of boost. I dont think it's possible, but I'm trying to figure it out.

i doubt you can make 5psi by 2000rpm and 10 by 3000 in an b16.....but i could be wrong, its your car...
