I know bolt ons don't respond well , blah blah blah, I'm just curious to see what numbers, even if small, can be achieved with what. I'm considering just doing some kinda ems after i/h/e, and if that would be a decent gain.

search http://www.7thgencivic.com and look for pauls build aka bomerman. hes usually in the mid atlantic forums.

his following mods are: (this is a rough guess)
Kpro
Intake
header
exhaust
stage 2 NA cam
JDM Fabtech Intake manifold

i believe on 91 octane he dyno'd at 150whp+ without the intake manifold and a exhaust leak.

hes already a match for em1's and swapped ej1's with b series motors. just wait until he does a stage 3 na cam and some higher compression pistons...im thinking 170whp-180whp after alls said and done, but of course that power might be at peak rpm. those of you that are kswapped without major mods better watch out

Strangely enough, I don't feel threatened.

that was the attitude that was expressed when people were saying they could make a fast turbo d17 back in the days. too many close minded people on this forum

D17A2 will never be anything GREAT unless you do a complete overhaul. at this time, you might as well just swap the motor. I got AEM v2, skunk2 catback exhaust, dc sports 4-1 headers, exedy stage 1 clutch. I dont feel much anything different except the clutch grabs better and my acceleration on the freeway is a little better but 0-60 acceleration remained the same as far as i can tell. just get a K20 end of story

good job bumping a 9 month old thread. again, such ignorance like this is why the industry is the way it is. people give up way too easily.

an update though, look for bomerman posting up 170whp and similar tq figures in the near future. for a D17, that's mighty impressive.

Edit: I see you have I/H/E. As far as minor bolt ons, you wont see any type of gains. Hes done SO much more to his car than just that. Kpro alone is worth its weight in gold on these cars. Oh and btw, the DC sports header, same diameter piping as the stock header so you paid another stock header.

Don't bump threads that are almost a year old, for no apparent reason.
